River Cabinet

Brief

This private commission is a celebration of the clients little family history.
They both are from the UK, have met in Manchester and settled now in Amsterdam, where they raise their daughter.

The cabinet should depict their story but yet be abstract. So they know its deeper, personal meaning but to other people it is less revealing at first.

We took geographical features of both places as an element of storytelling and embrace its symbolism.
The illustration of the door panels illustrates the two rivers of both places flowing together. Manchester’s river Mersey and Amsterdam’s Amstel river.

Made from solid American Maple and epoxy inlay.
